8 General 八家將
「八家將」是台灣傳統文化之一，舞者臉上塗滿了不同色譜，各個代表著不同職位的”神”，在廟會活動中跳著特定的舞步，主要是為民眾祈福並驅趕惡靈。這組作品將「八家將」移置到設定好的場景中，離開廟會活動場景的「八家將」顯得與新環境格格不入，用意為帶出台灣自身文化在現今全球化環境中孤單與迷失的處境。
"8 General"The dance of "Ba Jia Jiang" (the eight generals catching evil exorcism for Wufu Emperor) is a traditional cultural rite in Taiwan. Dancers painted with different masks on their face to represent "gods" of different duties dance specific steps at the temple fair to pray for good fortune and expel evil spirits. Moved into a new setting where they are no longer at the temple fair, "Ba Jia Jiang" appears to be unsuited for the new environment. The design is meant to show how lonely and lost Taiwanese culture has become in this globalized environment.
